Skald Specs

Hey All,

So I have seen an ungodly amount of Skalds around recently and was wondering what spec people are going? Either for 8v8 or small mans/solo/duo?

I have been playing with the char plan and since I will probs be running solo/duo I think the best option is 44 weapon / 44 BS / 21 Parry. Just wondering what other Skalds are thinking, there isn't a lot of leeway from what I can see.

Anyway look forward to your discussion!

Ahhh yesss, how foolish of me , who needs the extra parry when you can have red dmg add!

How would you break up this spec as leveling? Level 10/20/30/40/50?

I will be playing very casually, so Skald works good for me as someone who might be solo too much.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Just use provoke if your solo, low end use so you will hardly run out and the growth rate is equal to using your anytimes Ruiner>Crumble, you also only get the 0.01 extra growth rate if you hit your second attack. If your in a group and end use isn't an issue your side styles Frost Hammer>Demolish(+2sec stun) have a better growth rate and back styles are the best.

I like using the after parry style, Revenge or Lambast then Ruiner followed by Crumble when soloing my skald.
The reason for this is that Provoke contains a defense penalty so you may take a little more damage during fights.

Do you know about queueing styles?

i am currently 46 bs 44 hammer and 17 parry and think about speccing to 50 bs 36 hammer and 22 parry.
i almost never use the follow up of conquer (don’t wanna break the snare) and i am wondering how much weapon skill i would lose, when i change to 36 (my only concern).
my benefit would be: slightly better parry, better dd, health reg and in same occasions the resits.

your thoughts?

I'm 50 BS, 39 Hammer, 18 Parry for the extra solo/smallman utility when needed. I never use the 39 hammer style though, so I could have dropped it for parry.

For straight 8man, stopping at 46 BS to get higher weapon spec is alright though, as that's where basically all your damage is comming from (DDs are used to interrupt).

50 BS is just more versatile imo.

apart from the Endurance costs and the backstyle snare - any other reason to go hammer?

With pots, Endurance is not an issue and for the occasional solo run, axe might be good too?

Hammer is still better solo for the off-parry stun chain (sword and axe require blocking).

The more reliable snares in hammer can be a pretty big deal for group play too

getting back to my previous question.
can anybody tell how much weaponskill you lose by dropping from 44 to 36?
is it worth the gain of parry, higher dd and reg?

It will probably result in 6-7% less damage per swing. I went from 39 to 44 weapon spec which resulted in a 4-5% dmg increase. You can easily try this on the training dummies.

Hi.

I noticed that there are a few Skald skills missing based on this https://darkageofcamelot.com/content/class-library-skald. There is no endo and power regen songs. Is this correct?

At level 50, any suggestions for template gear?

Thank you.

I went 50 Battlesongs
whatever possible in Hammer (you don't get any new styles but i was told you still hit a bit harder)
and like 3 parry. Only run in groups though.

i went to 50 bs 39 hammer and 18 parry
imo very decent for small man and solo.

You can always get Mastery of parry, to increase your parry. You can not however, spec Mastery of Hammer with RAs.
