Hi all,

Just coming back after a long break getting back into things. Spec question for Inf. I'm DW spec so 50 + what ever DW, but how much damage diff will I see having my weapon spec at 50 compared to 52?

Thanks in advance!

less dmg variance

This server doesn't have variance though, you always hit for the average.
And OP asked for ACTUAL damage difference, he seems quite aware that 50specc will have lower dmg compared to 52

You are splitting hairs

The average...that is the lowest+highest /2
If you remove the variance (52+) you hit for the average of 100%.

Ok cool makes a bit of sense so 52 just the way to go to rule out the variance factor. Thanks a bunch for your time

So it seems that on Phoenix, the random aspect of variance does not exist, but the general concept does.

According to another post, this is the server formula for variance:
(0.75 + 0.5 * MIN(ENEMY_LEVEL + 1, SPEC - 1) / (ENEMY_LEVEL + 1) + 0.01 * RANDOM(50))

Except on Phoenix, the RANDOM(50) is replaced with the static average of 25.

So that at against a level 50 target:
01 spec = 100%
10 spec = 108.82%
20 spec = 118.63%
30 spec = 128.43%
40 spec = 138.24%
50 spec = 148.04%
51 spec = 149.02%
52 spec = 150.00%
53+ spec = 150.00% (capped at 52)

So the difference between composite 50 and 52 against a level 50 target appears to be around 2%.

AFAIK
