Blocking vs Dual Wield - Phoenix Freeshard

Is there a penalty to the blocking chance when going against dual wielding enemies?

I remember at some point in live that blocking had a penalty of 50% against dual wielders... but don’t remember completely.

afaik thats how it used to be on live but all the penalties have been removed years ago. now you only have certain lowered cap values. not sure about them but i think it was like 50% blocking? not sure tbh

for phoenix 25% penalty is correct

On patch 1.65 it used to be 50%.

Later on some patches, they removed penetrate bonus on Dual Wield and Two Hand. At some point they put them back into game but Dual Wield got reduced to 1/4.

And like it has been said, Phoenix went with the 1/4 right away.

No. Two hand is against parry and it is 50% there. Dual Wield has 25% vs. Block and Evade.

BLock rate =80%

Is it 80-25
Or
80*.75?

since blocking is caped at 60% its 60*.75=45 and no you can not overcap blocking -> count penalty in and end up at 60%

but defense penetration also counts in so you never reach 45% its more like 40ish
that sometiimes feels like you are not wielding a shield at all, still parry is very effective vs dual wield

The cap isn't 60% and def pen as well as the weapon based defensive penalties apply before the cap, the capping happens at the every end.

so why didnt i ever see higher block chances than ~ 43%? what is the cap for blocking then? i had a discussion on how to optimize scouts with skairipia and he told me he tried everything but block chance wont raise above that

hi inoeth, yes i couldn t go over 43% vs dual wielders, after for 1 handed couldn t over 58% (usually 56) and 2handed was around 53%

blocking cap is 50%
I reach almost 50% chances to block with my rr7 warrior and MoB 4 on some targets.
