Necromancer should not take 50% crit damage [Proof inside]

Necromancer were never supposed to take that high crit damages.
Only bolts had a wrong behavior on necro pets because they used the melee mechanic which allowed for exceeding the crit damage cap.

Here is a patchnote by Mythic clearly stating spells only did 50% crit (phoenix 35%) against necromancers like regular players.
> Bolts will no longer do up to 100% critical damage to necromancer pets; they cap at 50% critical damage like direct damage spells.

This was even reported on Uthgard, acknowledged and fixed.

In short: Spells against the necromancer pets should do only 35% damage on phoenix like against regular players.

What I forgot to mention: You probably have seen that picture of the reaver hitting a necro pet and doing almost 100% crit damage (50% crit damage on phoenix). Which is still floating around for over 17 years now and probably the reason we have this much crit on this server vs necro's.
I even tracked down the website where this was posted and discussed and it turns out only melee damage (and bolts because they used melee mechanic) had the full 100% crit (50% on phoenix), while spells always only did 50% (35% on phoenix).

That is where the confusion comes from.
Melee damage: 100% (50% phoenix)
Spell damage: 50% (35% on phoenix)

I can dig up the various sites if requested.
