We're going to do a week long event that introduces the new frontiers region, for the duration of this event the OF zones will be inaccessible, after the event is over NF will be deactivated and OF will become accessible again.
Relics will be reset and all keeps will be reset to level 1, unclaimed and owned by the original owner realm both at the start and at the end of this event.
The primary purpose of this event is to end speculation on what the majority of people would prefer but instead to get feedback after people were able to actually compare the two choices.
For the keeps, the same restrictions as in the Molvik event would still apply, meaning no razing / siege towers / holes in walls.
Diving is something we're still deciding, however, currently it looks like diving will most likely cause damage the moment you dive, effectively disabling it. Swim speed will remain as if you have the best swim buff active.
Unless we run into unforeseen issues, the current plan would be to open it on Monday, June 10th and close it again midnight CEST between Sunday the 16th and Monday the 17th.
Background info:
Due to the patcher suddenly being unable to provide client files we were forced to update to the most recent client version. Since that had to happen without any prior notice there wasn't really a way to wait for the community to figure out how to provide each other with the required files and hence updating was the only real option.
The update itself brought some issues with it, one being that diving appears to no longer being controlled server side since 1125 but also some annoying things affecting the old frontiers. After most of the issues caused by the update were somewhat resolved work began to support NF to have some alternative. Originally, we didn't intend to even start work on that until much later, after more work went into stability / bug fixes, however, the update kind of forced us to consider alternatives.
With the Molvik event we tested the basics of the new keeps and to get a general notion of how people react to those keeps. The way the NF keeps work made it only very slightly more work (literally minutes) to have all new keep layouts in the game instead of just the one Molvik keep and so the only remaining things needed to make the NF zones work would be populating it with mobs and adding the water boat routes as well as the relic system and the EV keep, for this event we'll forgo the latter two, while nice to have those two are not really necessary to do a short test to see the general reaction.
