After RR5 what benefit are there from getting 51 or 52 to weapon instead of 50?

Besides your weapon doing 16.5 dps instead of 16.2 ..

None really. Gains above 52 comp weapon are minimal at best. Speccing higher is usually for a style.

I guess the question would be what exactly is the diference between 51 and 52 comp base weapon spec after RR 5
On live back in the day it was always the 51 comp for max base damage, is this formula altered here?

Composite weapon at 51 was always for base damage when using a different line (LA, CD, DW, CS), not for styles using that weapon. The higher your weapon spec, the better your damage if you're using that weapon's styles and not a secondary spec line.

Any answers to the 51 or 52 weapon spec question?

Someone figured out that it was actually 52 comp weapon that capped your base weapon damage, not 51, but I don't remember their name. 51 was the number first proposed and tested by Wyrd, which held as the prevailing knowledge for years until new calculations were done as mentioned above.

Well I attempted to read that with the hopes of an answer but unsure what to calculate there to answer the question. I know for years on love the consensus was 51 comp spec. But I’m now seeing 52 thrown around and a little unsure which it is?

(ENEMY_LEVEL + 1, SPEC - 1) / (ENEMY_LEVEL + 1)

Enemy lvl is 50 for sub rr5 and 51 for rr5 +, so you need 52 to get 100% dmg.

You loose 1% base dmg each point you are not 52 comp. Can test it on dummys but take in mind they are lvl 50.

Keep in mind as 52 is the cap for damage, someone figured that there is no skill cap for weapon skill ...hit %
