How come chain can be turned into studded through skin remodelers?

Please explain to me why Shar Armor is Hib Reinforced armor?

Quite random having chain classes running around with studded armor..

Chain doesn't get turned into Studded when reskinned. The LOOK can change but the stats haven't changed.
