Is it completely random or it works like the bag system for procs/crits?

I have the impression that I get a better chance to make a plate MP after a strike of 30 cloth pieces with no MP - and the other way round.

Thanks!

Bad streaks is what is more memorable and hence always why people will complain about rng.

We basically have 3 different variants for checking chances in place currently:

...

Variant 3: Pseudo random distribution, mostly known for its use in dota 2:
It uses the pseudo rng from variant 1 but feeds it a lower than listed chance to check against and keeps track of its failure streak and each failure increases the chance it's checking against, on success it resets the failure streak counter and thereby reverts to the much reduced chance.
This is still fairly random while trying to curb good and bad streaks but has rather weird properties with chances higher than 50%.

...

Variant 3 is quite nice for all positive effects and still used for those: crit, crafting quality, procs, offhand hit chance. However once you use it for something with a chance of more than about 50% it just becomes slightly weird and if you have consecutive checks with one preventing the following, like in the case of defensive rolls, the effect is absolutely not what you want.

Just for info
I crafted approx 5000 of a low level weapon, in one run, no logging, zoning or any other item inbetween on a capped weapon weaponcrafter.
2.06% of the crafted weapons were MP weapons.
This was about 6 weeks ago.

Just as addition, as this seems like you could "game" the system. Iirr it would use different chances to check against for different things (in combination with resetting when logging/zoning/or even time intervalls). So crafting one thing and then trying to switch over to the expensive craft after having a fail-streak would not lead to increased MP chances on the expensive craft

If I recall correctly...a long time ago on a server far far away...

con gain % fail % item % time2craft
red 032 032 068 100
ora 048 016 084 100
yel 032 008 092 100
blu 016 004 096 080
grn 008 002 098 060
gry 000 000 100 040

MP 99 98 97 96 95 94
2% 16,33% 16,33% 16,33% 16,33% 16,33% 16,33%

as far as I could test it seems the same here though lowest quality is 96% iirc, you do the math but mp stays at 2%

Then it stays like this:
