Frontier Mobs that drop high level wood ?

What mobs on the frontier drop high level wood......and general location please ?
Might those mobs drop high level wood in pve areas too ?

Is this a thing?
Mobs dropping actual resources?
I thought only drop items to be salvaged.

In another version of DAOC this was available. I assume it is in this DAOC version too ?

Ravenclaw giants dropped the pillar of might on Uthgard - it salvaged for a lot of wood. That was nerfed eventually.

I’ve killed perhaps a thousand giants and none dropped it on Phoenix.
