Pears - Phoenix Log Parser for Moras

Hey there!

After another failed temp caused by a wrong manual entry on a ROG in Moras I decided to create a chatlog parser.

Thereby I proudly present you:

Pears!

Changelog Version 1.0.0.1:
- realm will now be inherited
- fixed date format for <lastupdate>
- removed black spaces from output
- LEFT_AXE will now be inherited
- single line focus bonuses will now be inherited










How does it work?

1. Chatlog your item you want to have in Moras
Go ingame, use the command /chatlog <text> (for example: /chatlog items), right click your item(s), click "Info" and disable the chatlog with /chatlog, again.

2. Open Pears
Simple extract the whole zip. Start Pears.exe and load the chatlog file. Pears will automatically browse to "C:\Users\<User>\Documents\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot", where all your chatlog are safed.



3. Do further config
You can choose to create a new Moras Items.xml file or to write into an existing one.
Depending on your Moras version you can write into the Moras Item database (the Items.xml in the Moras install folder)
Also choose the fitting realm for you items.




4. Validate your items
After pushing GO! you'll get to another window where you can validate any chatlogged item.
Also you have to chose which item type the logged item has (because it wont get logged in the chatlog -> Phoenix team? )
You can also rename items, if you wish to.
Also you can choose not to save an item by uncheck the "save" check box.





After editing the last item, you can now safe the items by using the confirm button.
If you choosed to create a new file you can select a file destination, now.
If you choosed to edit a existing file, it will be parsed inside there.




5. Load into Moras
In newer versions, you can import the resulted *.xml to Moras.
For older versions you have to write into the Items.xml in the Moras install dir.

6. Have fun with the items in Moras!

Great work, always had to use some notepad++ search and replace functions to convert phoenix to Mora's file structure this will make it even easier.

Based on this parser (thx!) i've created a Moras database for Albion.

You can download it here:

Compatibility:
- usable for all v1.7x (from v1.72) versions, just replace the 'item.xml'.
- at higher versions (v2.x) clean database completely and after, import this
data.
- at older versions (v1.6x up to v1.71) the database is unfortunately no longer
compatible!

Known Problems:
- the damage-type (slash/crush/thrust) still needs to be reworked for 2-handed
and polearm weapons, but at moment you can find the right damage-type within
the description!
- The values of quality and bonus are currently missing!

History:
~ based on an empty database...
~ contains all items from all merchants at Hall of Fellows in Camelot...
~ contains all items from all Albion-specific merchants at Darkness falls...
~ wrong and duplicated names corrected...
~ entries for location and realm added...
~ descriptions checked, revised and known errors resolved...


If someone want to help me, i need some more items, for example:

- Quests items...
- Epic-armor and -jewelry...
- Items from nameds who may still drop a little bit...

Planned to do so and to implement it into Pears (check box: add merchant items or so).
Regarding the 2h and Polearm weapons: yep, known, sadly the XML schema from Moras doesn't support it.

If some restless soul wants to help for Mid and Hib (I'm Alb, also), that would be great!
Than I can add them to Pears, too.

wasn't planned as an OpenSource project, yet.
Maybe later, as soon as I feel comfortable to view my messed code

But yes, I think I forgot alot of stuff regarding "present a solution to public" (like copyright), it's my first.

I've discovered two things not working correctly when parsing midgard items:
- When parsing items with "ALL dual wielding skills" the id attribute for the effect element is empty (should be "ALL_DUAL_WIELD_BONUS" and the skill is lost on the item when importing in moras.
- When parsing left axe weapons the weapon element has "Axe_LEFT" as content but it should be "AXE_LEFT" and when importing in moras it doesn't show up under left axes.

I also found some problems

- the value for Bonus will not be take
- the value for Realm will not be take
- the format of the date (02.03.2019 03.25.08 instead of 02.03.2019 03:25:08) makes problems in older, but most used mora versions (1.72 - 1.74)
- the blank spaces at beginning of lines makes problems in older, but most used mora versions (1.72 - 1.74)

Sadly the bonus is something which isn't chatlogged by DAoC/Phoenix. Therefore I don't have access to the information.
I could add a entry field for it, but it doesn't has any relevance for the temp building.
Same counts for Quality for some items (jewelery).

Regarding the realm .. found the error, will be fixed in the next "release"
Also the datetime will be fixed.

I think the Axe_LEFT gets manually added by the parser when selecting "Axe (left)" as Weapon Type since the type is not automatically selected, I don't think it has anything to do with the log file itself.

I found another small problem ;-)

(Single?) Focus bonuses are not accepted. You can find them in the description but not as magical bonuses...

Example: 'Staff of Fire and Earth'

Can't include Harps for Hibernia. Only flute, lute and drum is available.

/edit: just saw ingame the harps are "lute" as well. But Moras does not seem to recognize it later, no harps, lutes, flutes or drums available.
Other thing:
I wanted to create a "new file" (a clean file for only the feather merchant items) but it just added everything to my existing file.

can't reproduce this, if I chose "new File" I get the fileSave dialog at the end of the item validation, where I can chose a new file (or a file I want to overwrite).

I use 2.4 which allow imports: http://www.exekutive-daoc.de/downloads/moras-char-planer/
But you can use your version, too. Just use "save in: existing file", browse to your Moras folder and select the items.xml.
Pears will than add your parsed items to it.

I have noticed class restricted items do not get imported over into Moras. Below is the .xml file that was created. Is there a way to include the class restrictions for the items or is this a Moras issue? If needed I can share the text file as well

I recognized yesterday that "all dual wielding skills" has not been imported on my delved items (Hibernia).
Had to add it to the items manually after importing.
