Alrik looked back. He was a little exhausted but great anticipation had taken possession of him which made him forget about his itching back and his thirsty throat. He was happy and proud at the same time, that he and his fellow party members made it this far.

With a merry smile on his face he tried to remember the endless waves of enemies he fought when they were trying to reach the dark tower and he was sure, that he will never forget the massive respect he felt when seeing Maeviel, the lord of the dark tower for the very first time. That fight was intense and his gargoyle guards gave them a hell of a fight. A battle, bards, minstrels and skalds will still sing about and tell the people many centuries after Alrik and his friends would have left this earth.

They came literally a very far way since they started their journey. After they had finally beaten Maeviel, they took all of his treasures which were equally parted amongst the friends. It was Freya who found the torn piece of paper while searching the dead corpse of the dark tower lord. She almost overlooked it and was about to throw aside, when some strange glyphes on it catched her attention. She who spent many years as an apprentice of a dark wizard could barely decipher what was written on it, but her basic knowledge about the demons language offered her something that made her speechless and everyone else of her party after she told them about it.

It was part of something what humans would call a diary and in this excerpt Maeviel described how he went up to the far north to explore a huge cave, a cave full of ice and fierce creatures which are guarding a treasure. A treasure of unimagiable value, precious and locked behind deadly traps and monsters. When she told the others about it, all of them were shocked and excited at the same time. Shocked because Maeviel and his minions failed while trying to steal the treasures and excited because they knew that they would be foolish enough to try it themselfes.

This was a week ago and now they had finally reached the entrance of the icy cave which lay in front of them. To be honest, it didnt look scary at all Alrik admitted to himself, as far as he could recognize which wasnt that easy as the way into the cave was devoured by darkness a few meters after the entrance. The sun was shining and there was a peaceful silence around them which didnt fit into the setting of the tremendous dangers which would await them just a few steps ahead.

But Alrik didnt let the fear win, his adventurousness wiped all doubts aside. With firm steps and full of confidence he and his friends went straight ahead into a new adventure. And yes, they should, very soon and very fast, learn that inside was waiting way more than just one reason to be afraid of.

PS: Like last time, more infos very soon on the planned changes section.
