Template Caps

It's been about 15 years since I left DAoC so I'm pretty much clueless to anything newer than housing.
When templating to optimum everything, are there any penalties to going over a predetermined cap on a skill? Such as, my suit puts me 10 over on Dex, is it stealing from another skill/attribute?
I question this because my slash resistance is currently at 29% but it says 19% over cap at level 50. Shouldn't it be 3% over? I'm definitely missing something...

You have capped 26% from items, 3% from race and are 19% overcapped on items, meaning you have 19% wasted resists.

Optimum template is every relevant stat/resist/skill maxed without overcap on any.

Loki’s 1.4 was really simple, just had to type in the items I had and wanted in template, locked them and let the optimizer work. Much easier than trying to do a template by hand.

Edit : any overcap at 50 is wasted utility. Stat, skill or resist. Skills won’t tell you that they are overcapped, either.

You can use /bonuses to see the list of your bonus and cap

i finished my template with a couple things way overcapped.......the rogs on this server is pretty strong so its doable.

Caps aren't that complicated imho:
Resists: charlvl/2 + 1
Stats: charlvl*1.5
HP: charlvl*4
Manapool: charlvl/2
Skills: charlvl/5 + 1

Daoc rounds down. Hover your mouse over stats and resists (not sure about the others) to see where you are in comparioson to your cap (the client tells you x/y so you can easily see if a newly found items is gonna help or not.

Only difficult thing in templating is using that damn market explorer, lol. We need more options.

Yeah like an EXCLUDE - F U BODY RESISTS! so many items with body resists for Mid. or by Utility #..
My guess is that is not doable though. but hopefully I am wrong.
