I wasn't playing when the increased HP change went into affect, and the patch notes are not exactly descriptive. So, how many HPs do casters now get per con now? I'm essentially interested in whether toughness or aug con or some mix is the better way to go.
On this server you have free realm respecs (at least for the first 24 hours playtime on every realm level if i remember correctly), so you can fiddle around with different settings and see what the outcome is in every case.
Apart from that I've read on another (very old) DAOC forum that Thoughness brings you more hitpoints than augmented con. I've tried both and with thoughness I had more hitpoints as a result than with augmented con. Of course the price increases (in realm spec points) if you increase your thoughness more and more, so a good solution could be to first train augmented thougness to level 2 (brings you more hitpoints at lower realm levels) and then later (as price increases) train augmented constitution to level 2 instead of training thoughness 3. Should give you the best outcome at lowest price.

Wait is this true? I always thought it was first 24 hours at 50, not per realm level. If it's every realm level, I've been wasting a lot of feathers on RA respec stones.

This is not true. you are free to respec "cost free" as long as: You have not played that level for more than 24 hours.
Example: just hit 50, you have the next 24 hours of played time on that character to respec freely Example Hit 50 last year around launch and still play? you probably cant not respec as you have more than 24 hours played at level 50.
Bottom line the timer stops resetting once youre 50, if youre 48 you can respec until youve played at level 48 for more than 24 hours, but the moment you ding 49 that timer resets and you can respec freely again. Once you are 50 you only have 24 more played hours of free respecs.
Pretty sure I've been at 50 for more than 24 hours /played, so I was hoping to find out how many HP per con without having to potentially waste a respec stone.
It's going to be slightly different here, but this was an interesting post from way back:
"If it isn't quite exact, it should be VERY close to how much your inf would gain with each purchase combination. The two skipped combinations (Tough 3, Con 3 and Tough 4, Con 4) were left out intentionally, as they'll always be inferior to the listed path by either cost, output or both.
1pt Tough 1 25 hps 2pt Tough 1, Con 1 39 hps 4pt Tough 2 75 hps 5pt Tough 2, Con 1 89 hps 8pt Tough 2, Con 2 104 hps 10pt Tough 3 150 hps 11pt Tough 3, Con 1 164 hps 14pt Tough 3, Con 2 193 hps 20pt Tough 4 250 hps 21pt Tough 4, Con 1 264 hps 24pt Tough 4, Con 2 293 hps 30pt Tough 4, Con 3 329 hps 34pt Tough 5 400 hps 35pt Tough 5, Con 1 414 hps 38pt Tough 5, Con 2 443 hps 44pt Tough 5, Con 3 479 hps 54pt Tough 5, Con 4 523 hps 68pt Tough 5, Con 5 574 hps
Given that, I'd have to say that it appear Tough3 is the most efficient investment if you want to conserve RPs, and Tough4+Con2 is probably the highest point to stop at if you want the highest HP return possible without getting into absurd RP costs."
This is simple math.. actually you can get a rough result by 1. comparing hp before/after wearing your template(con75) 2. comparing hp before/after using comb pot(con83)
The answer you are looking for is 3.63 hp/con for casters. It was 2.8 hp/con before update.
