Realm Timer [general]

On Phoenix, you may create and play characters on all three realms (Albion, Hibernia and Midgard) but there is one condition: once you find yourself in action in an RvR zone on one realm, you may not enter an RvR zone on an opposing realm for four hours. Action is defined as any involvement in a player or mob kill. This also includes dying in an RvR zone or if you heal another player who is fighting a mob or another player in an RvR zone. RvR zones are considered as any zone where RvR combat occurs. New Frontiers, the Battlegrounds, Darkness Falls, Passage of Conflict and Summoners Hall are examples. (Note: The Realm Timer is is not triggered in the Level Playing Field event zone.)

There is a very handy in-game command /timer, which can tell you if you have an active timer, which realm you are currently locked to and how much time is remaining on the timer for your account. It is important to note that you may still log into any of the realms you wish and you will only be prevented from entering RvR zones on the two opposing realms. If you attempt to teleport or enter an RvR zone on these other realms, you will be taken to that realm's capital city until the realm timer expires. Please keep in mind the realm timer is based on your IP address which means everyone who shares your IP address (possibly your household) will be affected so please plan accordingly. If you use a VPN service, it is also possible to find yourself locked-out of other realms if another Phoenix player uses the same VPN. Staff members will not remove realm timers so please do not ask.

Maybe add that the Level Playing Field event does not trigger the realm timer. It is a question that comes up with some regularity.
