About us

Phoenix is a Freeshard (free to play) Server for Dark Age of Camelot. We are very open to the players and the community has helped shaped the server into what it is today. We have used patch 1.65 as the foundation and have made numerous class and game play adjustments, as well as, added Quality of Life features to make your playing experience much more enjoyable.

Re: 2021 Balance Changes #3
alb lifetap is still 2.5 cast, can be used in combination in moc to give you an offensive+defensive spell so it's quite different than mid and hib caster damage. overall alb caster grps are stronger than hib/mid caster groups also.

Re: 2021 Balance Changes #3
You might want to explain those debuff changes. I don't even play Albion and I think it's pretty ridiculous to have 83% of debuffs be for one value while the last one is noticeably lower. Disparity in the debuffs isn't how to bring Albion caster groups into line, taking away or modifying their 5-6 pets is how you do it. It's not the debuffs that kill you, it's the ability for the enemy to outnumber you 2:1 in an "even" fight.

EDIT:
Hell, one of the most popular ways to fight Alb groups is to land some CC, collapse on their pets, then reset the fight. If that doesn't tell you right there that pets are the issue, I don't know what does.

He plays the game, and he does it on more than stealthers.

2021 Balance Changes #3
This is a round of a couple minor changes, there are also some changes that will only be active in the arena region for evaluation.

- friar endurance consumption reduction gain per level reduced from 5% to 3% making it end at 19%
- friar hot had it's cast time reduced to 2 seconds and mana cost reduced to major heal levels
- amber simulacrum and underhill compatriot had their hp reduced to normal pet levels
- pets now refresh their combat timer while in any form of cc
- healer celerity range has been increased to 1500

Changes only active in the Arena region for evaluation:
- all casted resist debuffs except albion body debuff have been increased to their previous level (12 -> 15, 24 -> 30, 40 -> 50)
- aom had it's values reduced again to end at 20%

Some explanation:
The friar endurance consumption reduction had a greater than expected effect, this change should reduce it to the expected levels.
The friar hot was pretty much useless and due to the mana cost casting it was kind of actively harmful to the group.
Amber simulacrum and Underhill Compatriot are the only pets that still had bonus hp that was added to some pets back in beta to facilitate pet pull.
Celerity range has been increased as the 1k range is in conflict with the expected positioning of the aug healer making it rarely usable in even fights.

Re: Balancing - A suggestion for Melee Snares

You think you'll have an easier time staying on a target if chain snaring is removed? Good luck sticking anything when they can outrun you because you're out of endurance from sprinting and styling five times, and their bar is still full because all they're doing is running.

Re: Resist beeing capped to 40 when Avoidance of magic 9 is skilled
I just now found the other thread..sorry on opening a second one. There is written then after the relogg it is gone. That is not the fact.

So you tested it? Seems that also AoM 8 shows wrong resists.

Re: Pet bugging into Keeps/Towers...
@hedien: I am bored and killing time, doesn't mean i am angry or hating on you guys or not relaxed.
In fact, i have stated multiple times that i want this fixed/worked around too. But again, we can go back and forth accusing each other of being too emotionally involved, i don't think that helps the discussion in any way though.

You go into psychology without even acknowledging my argument. I never attacked reasonable suggestions about the topic, nor reasonable bumps. Opening multiple threads while an active discussion is already there is just annoying.
You cherrypick "fixed" problems after enough annoyance, sorry, brain occupation...while you ignore that without the over-annoyance the issues might have been fixed earlier. There are also age old examples where the constant annoyance has led to topics being completely shut down and already implemented supportsystems have been removed (solo-teleporters for example).

All i am asking is to keep the discussion reasonable and not exxaggerate. Why is that getting so much resistance?
It should be easier than average regarding this change, as there is no huge lobby that is against this fix (unlike classchanges/nerfs where discussions get heated fast and going into exaggerations is more understandable).

Many solutions/work arounds have been proposed.
Gruenes has actively participated in the discussion and contemplated different possibilities.
Personally i believe annoying them will rather delay this getting fixed, than speed it up...but maybe i am wrong.
I do agree that "the assholes often get served fast to get them to shut up/go away" far too often, personally i won't follow that approach though (and NO, i am not calling anyone of you assholes for bumping/new threads...that would be going way too far) as i know plenty of counterexamples too. If that's your strategy i guess we just have to disagree on that.

PS: I actually did just think of a "solution" that i don't remember being mentioned so far (though i don't know if it is actually easier to code than previous ideas):
Closed doors could pulse a pet-taunt towards the inside of the keep, to overide any other commands and make the pet attack the door. This is similar to the idea to pulse DMG that kills the pets, but it removes the problem of pets lagging thorugh when sent to attack. A pet that laggs through to attack, would just be taunted by the door and do what it was sent to do anyways

Re: The dps Warden

A very viable boring single target healer though
