power and cast speed should be theurs primary concern. you must spam a lot of pets and do it fast as you can. pets have percentage cost so bigger power pool doesn't help you very much. imho theurs successes in fg is measured by how long you survive and how long it takes you to fill battle field with your pets. so i would ignore damage, crit, int ras.

i would consider raging power. cast speed also important so mastery of art and aug dex is two viable option. rest is really optional. i would go more survival line such as toughness, aug con, psychical defense,

note: i would also test mastery of focus if it effects pet level probably not but if it does, pick it asap.

IIRC mof only affects you, never your pets (which sucks especially for necros as they basically are the pet ). Also: Theu pet mana cost is based on the base power pool, not considering SC, RAs and buffs so buffed up with bonus to power will result in many more pets.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong to, it has been a while

Does the base mana pool also include acuity points you spent at creation or are those excluded? Hence would you want to avoid putting points into the acuity stat at creation to get a smaller BASE pool?

That's something I can't answer for sure. But I think it's based on what your char looks like @lvl1 so my guess would be that you're right.

Should be easy to test: You can compare lvl 1 theus: One with 18 and one with 0 points in int. If the 18 pointer spams more you have your answer. You can also have a lvl 1 and a lvl 50 theu spam pets (both chars unbuffed, with identical stats on creation and naked), if the 50 theu spams more it means that at least the stats you get while leveling don't count.

All you need for this would be a 50 theu and have him provide some naked data

Has anyone confirmed if Mastery of Focus effects pet damage?

It doesn't. MoF adds levels to the spell you are casting for resist purposes. The higher the lvl spell, the lower resist rate. MoF1 makes a lvl 40 spell calculate as a lvl 43 spell. Max is 50.

Why would you get mcl? Having 1 pet out as a theurg is going to keep you in combat.

Because there are many times during fights/between fights where you can get 10s out of combat and use it. At 9pts it's extremely cheap for 60% power on a 3min cooldown. Most casters can get away with mcl1, but a theurgist eats up power and needs mcl2.
