Drop Market Explorer charge

I love all the quality of life enhancements on Phoenix. I was wondering if the dev team would consider doing away with the 20% penalty for buying directly from the Market Explorer. It seems pointless to have to run to the houses. Thank you for the consideration.

It's a way to combat inflation and needs to stay IMO.

Remove the 20% and implement a flat rate 5% tax for all purchases on housing zone

helps inflation and removes pointless running to CM

^^
Keep the 20% from search merchant
New command /port_house house#
House merchant has 5% tax

How does running to someone's house combat inflation?

20% is a bit much

Maybe the % should be based on your account $$$$$

Now we can hear from the anti socialist side

Not running to the house invokes the lazy tax. Paying the lazy tax removes more gold. Removing more gold increases the value of gold

No one is dumb enough to pay a significant amount of lazy tax...especially when they spent a significant amount of time farming it.

If you want to be that ridiculous, just put a 1p lazy tax for every teleporter. The quality of life enhancements make this game better than live and one of the appealing things about the server. Making easier to trade things would be another qol improvement.

If you believe people aren't willing to drop an extra 200g for a 1p item by not having to run to the house, you're extremely naive.

and if you insist, then those people are still spending time running around instead of farming even more gold into the economy

If someone can farm only 3plat per hour, then running around housing to merchants for ten minutes needs to save them AT LEAST 500gold, otherwise it's a loss.

I buy everything from the market explorer without moving around, especially combined forces 1p pots - yolo.
By simple playing RvR I get enough money to sustain this excessive lifestyle =)
If I ever run out of money I rather farm 2 h and stick to my laziness afterwards for the next months to come.

for sure not in Midgard...

The market explorer charge is pretty much perfect as far as gold sinks go, it's a completely optional pay for convenience fee. In terms of economy impact, it's the second largest expense (actual gold removal from the game), after vendor purchases.

I know I'm in an extreme minority, but I honestly find there to be way too much instant travel in basically every MMO out. It completely destroys the feeling of being in a living, breathing world when you're just teleporting back and forth all over the place.

And yeah, that includes seeing people's mansions! But please unlock the damn things!

Travel (non-porting) is important for immersive purposes; what you said is not an opinion but an objective statement. Porting around especially in both directions skips over a lot of setup to the experience.
